Elements of graphic design

The elements of graphic design are: Line, shape, texture, space size value, and color

Line
Lines can be useful to:

  • Create a graph or a chart
  • Stress information (underline)
  • To guide the reader to look at a piece of information
  • Create emotion
  • Create a pattern
Shape
Shapes can be used to attract attention. There are 3 types of shapes:
  1. Geometric (triangles, squares and rectangles)
  2. Natural shapes (animals, plants, and humans)
  3. Abstracted shapes (icons, stylized figures, and graphic illustrations)
Shapes can be useful to: 
  • Crop images to different sizes
  • Make a block of text more interesting
  • Highlight information
Texture
For graphic design texture could be an illusion, could be patterns or  images
Texture can be used to:
  • Visual
  • Call attention
  • Highlight
  • Make it as readable as possible
Space
Amount of white between 2 items this could make whatever u making easier to read and it can also give eye rest.
Space is used to:
  • Give they eye visual rest
  • Grab attention
  • Make it easy to read
Size
How big or small a figure is
Size is used to:
  • Attract attention
  • Make the item more important larger
Value
Lightness or darkness of the area
Value is used to:
  • Give the image lightness or darkness 
  • Create a pattern
  • Give volume to a picture
Color
Color can be used to:
  • Create a  mood
  • Highlight important elements of whatever u are trying to make
  • It can also be created to make a pattern
  • Organize
